It was well after midnight when Joe and Smith said they were going back to the hotel. "I’m going to ride the tram down to the last stop at Excalibur and keep gambling,” Brian told them.

“I’ll stick with you,” said Ian. If not for their loud surroundings, the guys could have heard Brian’s inward groan of aggravation.

Joe announced, “We’ve got the shuttle to the airport booked to leave the hotel at two-fifteen tomorrow, or,” he checked his watch, “this afternoon.”

The tram ride between the Luxor and Excalibur was significantly longer than between the Mandalay and Luxor. Brian observed the grin on Ian’s face and thought it would be more appropriate for a ride on Disney’s monorail. When they disembarked, Ian was quick to suggest that they go watch Merlin battle the dragon. Brian turned on him, with only a couple of inches between their faces, and said, “What the hell is wrong with you, man? All weekend you keep wanting to do all this touristy shit. We’re in Vegas. I came to gamble. Why are you even here?”
